The Comprehensive CBRN Incident Commanders course was organized by the Joint CBRN Defence COE at the NATO-ICI Regional Centre in the State of Kuwait from 03 to 07 December 2017. The course was supported by the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme.

The course was opened by NATO-ICI Regional Centre manager Mr. Fawaz Abdulaziz AlOthman, who expressed the fact of increasing cooperation among NATO, the State of Kuwait and the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative countries. He also mentioned that this is the third course taking place at the Centre. Participants from Kuwait Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, Kuwait National Guard, Fire Service, Ministry of Health, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Civil Aviation, Environment Public Authority and Kuwait Oil Sector attended this course.

Course Introduction
 

The course aim was to introduce and describe NATO Consequence Management Concept, organization, systems and procedures including Cooperation and Partnership initiatives in Crisis and Consequence Management after CBRN incidents.

The course should assist developing security standards matching international requirements and improving interoperability and effectiveness of international cooperation in the CBRN Defence area. Experts provided the trainees with theoretical and practical knowledge on CBRN Consequence Management through lectures and Table Top Exercises.
