After a one-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the JCBRN Defence COE in close cooperation with the Military Research Institute Brno, conducted a Live Agent Training Course at the Testing and Training Facility “Kamenná Chaloupka” from 18- 22 October 2021.

During this 5-day training event, the course participants, whilst wearing individual protective equipment (IPE), improved their confidence in working in a CBRN environment containing chemical warfare agents (CWAs) and toxic industrial chemicals (TICs).

Course participants were familiarized with international safety standards and CBRN defence procedures through classroom training and a series of field exercises focusing on detection, operational sampling, and immediate/operational decontamination. This training significantly increased the students’ interoperability and improved their practical knowledge while working in CWA and TIC contaminated environments.

All 15 participants from various countries (Belgium, Croatia, Poland, Romania, and Sweden) appreciated the support, professionalism, and expertise they obtained from the course director, the instructors from the JCBRN Defence COE and the 31st CBRN Defence Regiment (Liberec, Czech Republic). Significant gratitude was further expressed towards the director of the “Kamenná Chaloupka” facility, for both his personal and his team’s outstanding support.

The next iteration of the Live Agent Training Course will be conducted from 10 - 14 October 2022. For additional information on courses organized by the Joint CBRN Defence COE, please visit our Centre’s Training Portal (https://www.jcbrncoe.org/index.php/courses-link-page).
